Haruhi Fujioka: Introduction
Haruhi Fujioka the Japanese name is Fujioka Haruhi, is the protagonist character of the Ouran High School Host club anime and manga series. She is very highly intelligent, 1st-year student from the middle-class family, though she is considered poor and common by the wealthy elite members and attending Ouran Academy. As Haruhi is required to remain always first position in her class to keep her scholarship, her studies are too vital to her. Because of a freak accident, she is enlisted by the Ouran host club to play a Host, entertaining the mostly female clientele who come to the Music room 3 for the tea, snacks and conversing with the charming boys.
Haruhi Fujioka: Appearance
Before the Haruhi Fijuoka attends the Ouran Academy, she is portrayed as a pretty and beautiful girl as seen in flashbacks when she had a very long hair and wore a girl’s uniform. However, upon enrolling at the prestigious known school, her image changes very drastically. When the Haruhi is first introduced and appear in the anime series, she sports a nerdy, androgynous personality that differs a lot from her middle-school appearance. She is having gotten gum in her hair just before the school year begins and she cuts it into short. She is being unable to afford the expensive Ouran uniform, she wears the shapeless, baggy clothes. With her messed up styled hairdo, large glasses which was also belonged to her grandfather, and manly clothing, she is assumed to be a boy.
Haruhi’s overall appearance outside of school varies completely. She mostly wears a simple t-shirt and a Bermuda short, or sometime a feminine dress pair up with jeans. Her father, Ryouji Fujioka, is persistent in his attempts or chance to have Haruhi dress more in more the feminine garb, but he adores his daughter, nonetheless. After Haruhi leaves for an America, she grows her hair long out until it reaches it to its original length, keeping it long throughout the college.
Haruhi’s rose in the Host Club is of red colour. In Japanese culture, it signifies the life and romance, a suitable color for the heart and the lifeblood of the anime series. In the Western culture, the red rose is a symbol of the perfection and the beauty, which is how the Host Club boys sees her. Throughout most of the world, the red rose colour symbolizes the true romance, care, and a loving heart.
Personality
Haruhi Fujioka is very much dedicated towards her studies, and she aspires to enter a law school to emulate her deceased mother. She is too practical and loyal to a fault, but also very much caring and insightful. While she also finds the antics of the Host Club somewhat annoying, but she always appreciates their protectiveness of her and their genuine wish to “make every girl happy.” The anime series shows that how Haruhi interacts with each of the hosts in various ways and how her relationships with them get evolve over the period of time. While she is apathetic towards events, she is astute in gauging the other people’s motives. Throughout the anime and manga series, Haruhi remains too friendly to all the hosts, despite few of them stating the romantic feelings towards her.
